  • RA Rally Site

I have been contacted again by the RA about locating a good rally site in the southeast. as one would expect there are a set of guidelines to help qualify a site but if anyone knows of a potential site here in AL or along the gulf coast that would be good to host a rally with an attendance up to a couple thousand or so, post it here and we'll see what we can do to help out.

The RA rallies are "hosted" by local clubs so there is a great deal of involvement for the club in the planning and execution of the rally. Many will remember the last one the AL club participated in with the RA at Barber's in 2004.

Here is our chance to make a rally happen close to home! Let me know what suggestions you may have!

Vance, I still think that the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, La. would be an excellent site for a rally. I submitted it to Ian last year as a possible site for the MOA rally. don't know if it is being considered or not. May or June would be a better time for the rally but who knows what the weather will be anywhere at any time. Here is a link to their web site.

The Lamar Dixon Expo Center is proud to be the beloved community center that it is today. Take a look at what we can offer you in Gonzales, Louisiana!

Hey Gator - the Lamar-Dixon facility was judged to be too hot for July for the MOA. Now after "the Hot One" in Bloomsburg, there may be consideration to moving our date from July, but it's too early to say. That sure is a good venue, though and the people were eager hosts.

For the RA, a little birdie tells me something about Asheville......

Ian, it was actually cooler down here the week of the rally than it was in Bloomsburg. Temps were in the low 70s for the lows and the low to mid 80s for the highs. You just never know.
