An inspiring celebration of the motorcycling community, Why We Ride is a documentary film that shares the passion of motorcycle riding and shows the camaraderie of the friends and families who ride together. As told by the many racers, riders, pioneers, and parents in the sport, the story weaves its way through generations of motorcyclists who live each day to the fullest on their two-wheeled machines. The refreshing message about the joys of motorcycling, coupled with state of the art photography, capture the imagination and set the soul in motion.

There was a good crowd @ the Lee Branch theater today. I saw lots of old friends that I hadn't seen in years. The film was a nice "feel-good" piece that did cover most of why we ride (at leasat in my opinion). If you get a chance, go see it. Most riders will enjoy it!

          "Why We Ride"

4.72” of rain yesterday at Chelsea Park in Shelby County

I rode my bike over 60 miles round-trip on a cold rainy winter day to see it. I had already paid for my ticket online, and I really wanted to see the film, rain-or-shine, and I really didn't have any other option available to me to get there other than to gear-up, and "embrace the suck" of riding in the rain.

I walked into the theater dripping-wet in full-gear, gave the man my ticket, and once in the theater picked a spot to strip out of the multiple layers and hang it over several chairs to let it all drip-dry for the next hour-and-a-half. There was a good crowd, as the theater was about 75% full.

This film was fully worth the wet ride there to see it! ... The film covered ALL aspects of riding, and it was good to see BMW's well represented throughout the film. It was also good to see many riders that I know, either having met personally, or at least know through their reputation, including: Ted Simon, Melissa Paris, Keith Code, Jason DiSalvo, Valerie Thompson, Josh Hayes, Elena Myers, Kenny Roberts, Troy Lee, Arlen Ness, Don Emde, and many many more! The cinematography was awesome too, with several shots just taking my breath away, and some causing tears to well up too.

... I believe that every rider should share this film with their non-rider friends, - and every non-rider should see this to understand why those who do ride have a passion for what they do. ... Every guy should share it with his girl, and every girl should share it with her guy, ... every kid should have their parents watch it, - and every parent should share it with their kids! ... In the end, - I really do think that EVERYONE should see this film, - because if they have not yet full embraced "riding" motorcycles as a life-choice, I feel that this film will give them cause to wonder why they haven't yet done so. ... This film should bring more families into "riding," ... bring more couples closer, ... and more children growing up to become responsible adult riders. ... In the end, I believe this is one of the greatest films recently put together, - because if there are more people who become responsible riders, then the world will without a doubt be a better place in our foreseeable future!

... I guess you could say that I liked the film, and I would give it two-thumbs-up!

My helmet's off to you, Roger! I think your bike was the only one there. Even Mike Greenwood was on 4 wheels yesterday.
