Let's Help The Eldridge Children's Home!

Many of us will be gathering in Nauvoo this weekend for the always fun monthly club meeting. And many of you know that Nauvoo is located very near the Eldridge Children's Home. Since we are going to be that close, several of us are planning to stop by the home on Saturday afternoon to drop off supplies. Below is a list of items they published in their newsletter this month. If you would like to contribute any of these items, please bring them along with you to Nauvoo. We will collect any items to be donated and take them by the home Saturday afternoon after our return from Martin's ride.

Any of the items you can supply will be greatly appreciated by the home. If you don't have room to pack, of course they can also accept cash, checks or even Wal-Mart gift cards...all of which can be easily packed on your bike!

If we have enough riders interested we can ride over on the bikes. Sheila and Jim will have their truck to haul the load so let's see if we can fill it up!

Also remember that the annual Eldridge Toy Run will be the first Saturday in December. Norwood will post more information on this great annual tradition soon as he tells me they are hard at work planning right now. As you can imagine the home needs help and support for these kids all year long. Hopefully you can help now AND make the Toy Run in December too

Your are invited to attend and bring your friends to our 12th annual RTE in support of Eldridge Children's Home. Dec. 5 and 6th, Always the First Saturday in December.

Friday Dec. 5, 2014 about 6:30 PM, we will have dinner at the home...I will again provide transportation to and from the host hotel, before and after dinner.
Saturday Dec. 6, 2014, our ride to the home and LUNCH will be provide with a short program by the kids. (1 hour).
Host hotel: Super 8 Jasper, AL. Call direct 205-221-3050 ask for Eldridge Children Home rate: $53.96 plus tax for two queen beds ( 1st and 2nd floor have these) This is a Pet free hotel. Hot breakfast served, also small diner next door, Texaco next door also.

This home since 1948 has provided a home for 800 plus children using donation only...no state or federal monies.
