Hi All,
I have missed the majority of the meetings this year due to the fact I was trying to get my bike ready for the Motorcycle Cannonball Run. I missed seeing my old friends. This year it goes from Atlantic City NJ to Carlsbad CA. We start out on Saturday the 10th from the boardwalk. It has been a true challenge for all participants to get 100+ year old bikes ready for the event.
You might recall I attempted this in 2014 on a 1929 BMW and made it part way across before an engine failure took me out. I appreciate the clubs support during that run. Hopefully this time I will have a better run at it. I will tell you the earlier bikes are a lot more primitive and delicate. So it will really be a challenge this time!
Here is a website to the event – they have been a little deficient in keeping it up to date. There is a pretty active Facebook page link on it though. I expect that the website will see new postings during the run.
This is a link to my website. On the main page you will see a link to my SPOT satellite tracker. I will have this on starting the first day, Saturday September 10. This will show my progress at about 10 to 15 minute increments during the day. If it does not move, I either did not have line of sight to a satellite, I was getting gas, or I am broke down. Don’t get obsessed watching this as it will interfere with your day job.
On the left side is a tab called Rebuilding Lucille, this goes through my rebuild process. I will be posting photos and a brief description of the days run late each night under the 2016 Cannonball tab.
Atlantic City NJ to Carlsbad CA.....
Shout out the Cajun Contingent affected by recent floods - you guys are in my prayers.
