Industry watchers say Carnival will replace aging cruise ship soon. The paper says there are plans to replace the Holiday Cruise Ship with a new Fantasy Class cruise ship. Here is a comparison:

The Mobile City Mayor annouced it plans to spend $3 million dollars on a new gangway as soon as it gets the offical work from the Cruise Line.

I guess everyone has seen on the news that the Fantasy can not return to New Orleans due to an oil spill and is sailing out of Mobile until early September. Since the Holiday is also still there, Carnival has made arrangements for parking off site with shuttles.

Maybe this is a trial for the Fantasy to dock in Mobile on a permenant basis at a later date. Who knows?

Haven't heard/seen anything regarding renting a coach(es) to get us to Jax and back. Any word??

Have not been able to come up wit ha good resource for this as of yet. If you have any ideas let me know. I think some folks are going down a day or two early so that would make the group smaller. Looks like its each for himself unless I can come up with somthin'.
