May 10 Day Ride

Gary has asked me to put together a ride for Saturday, May 10. I said yes before I knew what I was saying. I've led lots of rides, but not one for this group. So join me if you dare!

My plan is to start somewhere around Pell City and go thru Talladega, Waldo, Ashland, and Lineville in a very indirect route. The purpose is to see a lot of ABEES places. I haven't done my recon yet so I can't tell you exactly right now. Once I've done that, I will be able to tell you more about how long it will be and where we will go. Or maybe not. You may just have to show up to find out.

It will be in the Talladega National Forest and Clay County for sure. Not Cheaha since everybody does that anyway.

So mark your calendar!

The May 10th club ride will depart the Chevron Station at I20 exit 165 (Pell City) at 0930 hours.

Today, I went with Lenn on the recon for this ride. I can assure everyone Lenn has some great roads to ride. If you are chasing ABEES points, you will pick up several including an extreme. I left the house this morning, 40 degrees, to meet Lenn at Emery/Lincoln (exit 165 on I20.) My ride was 12 hours and 448 miles - Lenn's run will be about 175 miles.

Excellent photos Outlaw. It looks like you have a good chance to stay with Martin. Looking forward to seeing every one May 10 for Lenn's ride. Looks like it will be fun.
