  • Trail of Tears

For the last few years a few friends and I have been riding up to Florence for the Trail of Tears event. We usually just ride up there early, look around McFarland Park then ride on into Waterloo (the best part of the ride.) We leave before the massive group of riders comes in, sometimes we meet them on the way out. We then get on the Nachez Trace and ride it down to Tupelo, eat supper there and head back via Corridor X. We're usually back before dark. If you would like to ride with us you are welcomed. We will meet at Jack's on HWY 195 in Jasper, Al on Saturday Sept. 19th at 7:00 AM. Jacks is near the 9th Ave. overpass of I-22 formerly 78 HWY between Son's Supermarket and the HWY 5 HWY 195 intersection. I hope for good weather, last year it was fairly dry but overcast the whole time.

    Jeff,
I would like to ride with you this weekend, provided we get back before 6:45 in the evening. What about David?

Great, David rode his GS with us last year, I'll try to get in touch and see if he wants to ride this year.

Vic, We are glad that you are planning on riding with us. If you can't spot the BMW rider in the crowd at Jack's that morning, just look for the short, bald, pudgy guy, think Uncle Fester wearing a BMW shirt.

Not too many Indians with fire water, maybe a few tattooed up Harley guys.

Anybody deciding late to go with us we're still planing on meeting at Jacks at 700am and leaving at 730. One rider will be joining us at Natural Bridge gas station and resturant (on highway 5) at 800am. We will probably not go if it is storming but just light rain we plan on heading out.
