      Lee,
thanks for the invite. I consider you event to be one of the premier events. I sure hope I am back from my trip out west in time to make the Ribfest, but afraid I won't be.

        Hey Gary,

There's nothing like a trip out West. If the snows come early head on back, we'll have a hot rib waiting for you.

Russ, Jim and I will be heading that way on Friday. We may have to wait unitl 11am or so to leave, but keep the light on for us (really I mean so we can set our tents up in the dark)!

I think that Shelia plans on coming up and camping in the truck!

I plan on doing the GS ride on Saturday.

              See you there.

Ribfest was not this weekend - don't ask

                Well,

After riding up to TN today I determined the ribfest was not this weekend. I rode up and down Bells Branch looking for BMW's and sniffing for ribs. I even pulled over a family riding horses on the dirt road to ask where all of the BMW's are. I think I might be a tad young to have senior moments already. I figured out it was the wrong weekend after calling a few club members.

Well... I did enjoy the ride up and back.

                  Hi Erik.

Glad you enjoyed the ride there and back on your recon ride. Did you find Lee's property?

I suspect I was within a few hundred yards. I had the GPS coordinates he provided. I crossed a bridge that had the creek flowing over it. I did not see his name on any of the mailboxes right over the creek. So I did not know exactly what I was looking for.

Boy that last line can really set you up for some flames if I wasn't the sensitive caring guy that I am. I am glad that you were able to get ahold of me, but a call before you left would have been a bit more prudent

Will you be back from NJ on the 24th? We will be there then.

When you crossed the creek, you were on Lee's property.

I look forward to seeing you there on October 24.

I am going on the 23rd so I can ride the great roads up there Saturday. A route I plan to ride is a fun dirt road that goes from Coble to Lobelville, then back on a curvy paved road that goes by a interesting Mennonite bulk store.

You are welcome to join me Friday. My route to Centerville will be through Elkmont.

                          Hey Bob,

Jim, Russ and I will be there on Friday as well. We may have another friend with us on his Ducati. I put a route together for Saturday which includes the Trace up to the Loveless Cafe for biscuits and breakfast, then on to Dover, TN and Ft. Donelson. It is a really neat park right on the river there.

We will head back to Lee's via some back curvy roads.

                          See you there!

                            Steve,

I was glad that you answered the call. I was going thru the Alabama blue book calling everyone I thought might be at the ribfest so I could get directions. I suspected the GPS was off a bit. It did not even dawn on me that it might be the wrong weekend.

By the time I got home a couple of other members I had called and left messages with had called me back and let me know that this was not the right weekend.

If I had know that before I left this morning I would have headed down to Barbers for vintage motorcycle days instead.

Eric, I think it may be time for us to have a talk. Senility is supposed to be reserved for us old guys; or are you maybe joining us? It happens before you know it.
