Ride to Oxford

We from Jasper are riding to Oxford, Ms. tomorrow (Fri, 2 Apr) for lunch. If anyone is interested in going with us, we can arrange to meet. Our timing is flexible. Any suggestions for good places to eat?

There are several non-chain bar and grill type places on the square. All of them are good. Also, there are a couple of bookstores that deserve a look.

If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I would meet you there. Anyway, have fun. It looks like a great day for a ride.

What time are you leaving Jasper and where is a good place to meet along the way other than along the side of the road? I will be coming from Birmingham on Corridor X.

Ron Shea has been talking about an eatery in Oxford, Ajax On The Square, for months saying how good it is. By any chance, is this the restaurant you have planned for lunch?

Bob, We are flexible about a meeting place. If you get off at the first Jasper exit and go right you will come to a Hampton Inn on the left in about 3 - 4 miles. We could meet there about 0930 or later if you need. We can eat anywhere you like. That Hampton is where I met Ron Shea when he delivered my GS in Sept of 08.
