On January 3, 2009, 5 of us (BMWMOAL members) took our first ride of the year.
    DSC01610.jpg
We rode to Nesmith’s in Moulton for lunch. Along the way we acquired several ABEES points (pie and coffee at the Slick Lizzard),
    DSC01616.jpg
a deer that jointed our ride, rain storm with lighting and a bad hall sensor (stopped bike in middle of road during some of the hardest rain).

Well, I will lead this ride again this January. We will meet at Niki’s West on Finley Blvd on Saturday, January the 8th. Come as early as you like for breakfast. The ride will leave at 8:30 AM. As Bob says, have a full tank and empty bladder.

Look forward to seeing you then.

And a good ride it was!! I would love to retrace this track and hope to see a big crowd on Jan 8!! Although I am sure Terry will be fine with leaving out the deer this time! Thanks Martin for setting it up!!

Terry would be deee-lighted to leave out fauna, including griz, skunks, deer, etc. I am planning to go.

Flatrabbit, we are meeting at Niki's West for breakfast. Plan to leave there at 8:30 AM. We will be coming toward Jasper on the old 78 highway. We will turn on the Sipsey Road toward Sipsey. Should be there about 9:00 AM. Will look forward to meeting you there. I believe there is an old drive in cafe on the corner. If you have a gps you can down load the route from the attached file.

All right you guys...I resisted the temptation to ride today...and did my thing as Grandpa...but I would sure like to know all about the ride. It may have been a bit chilly but it sure looked like a great day for it! Report and pictures..please (withdrawals are tough!)

Vance, sorry that you did not make it. I understand that Joan would not loan her scooter. Seven riders made it to Nesmith's

and the burgers were good. A lot of riding and not many pictures. Had such fun that we might make this (hunting for the best hamburger in Alabama) a frequent ride.

Here's some more pictures of the ride. It started out very cold and ended up that way for me as I got home after sunset. New member Jeff Pesnell is in the pictures. Nice guy and good rider!
