    Hey Don.

What a great ride you have for your friends at Pandora's. I am so glad that the ride to Mountain Cove has reopened. That is one of the best motorcycling roads in our neck of the woods.

Terry and Joan are having their red beans and rice gathering on the 19th, so I am comitted to go there.

Understand, I forgot that it was the same date....I rode the route on Sunday afternoon, the Gap road was in great shape with a new surface...little grit on the sides from all the rain...but in great shape.

The store was open, doing some burgers and snacks...miss the cobbler there...seems the property has been divided up with the County/State in a land Preserve/conservation trust...so looking like no more development or housing in the Valley part is of the farm land... As one of the locals explained the county doesn't have the money to pay their part for upkeep of the trust part, therefore they have leased it out to farmers to grow hay and use for cattle...which is a good thing.

It still remains one of my favorite sections of road....the gap and Hog Jowl Rd.

Mine too Don. My last time there was in early November 2010 and the road had not been paved long. It is a good one for sure! I enjoyed a cheesburger there and wished for some home made cobbler. The burger was good, but not as good as the one at the Pikeville Store and Deli.

Ride safe, I know you and your friends are going to have a great ride Saturday.
