Brierfield Ride Saturday

I have put together a ride in the Brierfield neighborhood for anyone wanting to come along. Tim informs me that we will not have access to the bunk house until about noon but he will be there by about 10:30 if you want to offload your stuff and go for a ride. Let's meet at the bunkhouse between 10:30 -11:00 an plan to leave on the ride at 11:00 if possible.

The ride is about 80 miles in total but can be shortened if our time runs short. I plan to visit the Brierfield Cemetary and then head down to West Blocton for lunch at Lemly's Tiger Hut (old fashion drive in) right there on Main Street. From there we will stop in at the Blocton Coke Ovens Park for a visit and then head up through Marvel and Pea Ridge. We will back track through the community of Dogwood and back to Brierfield Park.

This ride will include some narrow single lane paths all paved but the pavement is pretty rough in sections. We will not be riding fast but this is more of an exploration ride.

Suz and I are planning to go down there Friday afternoon in our RV. Looking forward to the ride. I'll tow the GS down there.

Hi Gail,my plan is to leave at 11 and stop by the cemetery before heading over there. We won't stay long there (lol) and it is not far over to West Blocton from there so I would guess we should be there between 12:00 & 12:30. I thought we would eat and then visit the park where the coke ovens were. The total ride is about 80 miles and at any one time we are not more than 20 miles from Brierfield.

I have never eaten at the Tiger Hut but been by there many times. I can't recall if there are tables there or not...it is a real small town drive in. I called and warned them of the impending invasion!!

Jim, glad you guys are coming, I look forward to seeing "all ya'll" there!

Suz and I are in space 13 in our RV. If you are going on the ride and want to drop your bags that you don't want to haul around with you please feel welcome to do that. If you are not familiar with what our RV looks like, it is a Four Winds Majestic which is on the sides in bold print. The awning is out so anything should be protected if there is a shower. If you have valuables that you need to put inside get there a little early.
