Ride from Wisconsin to Talladega

Hi Everyone,

Another member of the Badger Motorcyclists of Wisconsin BMW club and I are riding to Talladega for this weekend's race. It's been almost 25 years since I lived in Birmingham. Can anyone suggest a decent hotel where the two of us can stay on relatively short notice? Also, does anyone have any insight on parking at Talladega? I was in Charlotte this past weekend and they had a parking lot dedicated to motorcycles right across from the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

If anyone is attending and interested in meeting up, let me know. I'd like to meet other members of the club. I was impressed by those I met at the rally in St. Paul. The "social experiment" involving the 3 port-a-potties was priceless!!

Hello Chris! Glad you are coming down this way, Talladega is always fun and the weather forecast is spectacular! The close local hotels will of course be jammed for the race event. But I would think you could probably get something at the Leeds exit back toward Birmingham and that would put you close to the Barber Museum too! :-) There are several national chains located at the intersection of I-20 & US 411. And hey, the porta-pottie experiment might be fun at Talladega too! lol....
