Hi ALABEEMERS,
Martin Benson and Brian Hinton will lead our April 9, 2016 2nd Saturday RTE to the Cannon Pub in Columbus, Georgia (http://thecannonbrewpub.com/). If you haven’t been to Columbus lately, you are in for a treat. Downtown Columbus is booming with many new and exciting venues including outdoor cafes, zip lines and white water rafting on the Chattahoochee River.
We will meet Martin Saturday morning, April 9, at Hardee’s on Valleydale Rd. @ I-65 and will depart there at 7am sharp, with full tank and empty bladder. There is a BP fuel station across the street from Hardees. Martin will lead us south on I 65 to exit 205 then back roads to cross the historic Bibb Graves Bridge in Wetumpka (http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/W...tumpka_Alabama) and continue over the Emerald Mountain Express Way Toll Bridge to the Pike Road BP (I 85exit16) where we will join Brian Hinton’s group for his ride to The Cannon Pub. Departure from the Pike Road BP is 9:30 am.
Here below is Brian’s ride description and the two rides are attached.
I’m looking forward to seeing you Saturday morning, 9 April.
Bob

Bob, here is my ride description:
Leaving from Pike Road, we will be taking almost all county roads headed east. We will see nice, warm, southern country life on our journey. Our first stop will be in Seale, where we will visit the Museum of Wonder (http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/36).
From there, we will head into Columbus, Georgia. If you have not been to Columbus in a while, the downtown area is booming with arts, entertainment, and eateries. We will have lunch at the Cannon Brewery, a locally owned micro-brew, with a menu that should accommodate everyone's tastes (http://thecannonbrewpub.com). For the people that would wish to go, I have included a route to a locally owned coffee shop in Auburn, Alabama (www.mamamochas.com). That is all I have; however, if you think of something you would like to do, or wish to change something, just feel free to do so!
Thank you,
Brian Hinton
