  • 2nd Saturday RTE June 11, 2016

    Hi Alabeemers,

Martin will be celebrating his grandson's graduation, but we will enjoy riding his 6 Gap RTE next Saturday 6-11-2016 anyway.

The RTE will start at the Edwards Bakery and Cafe at the Colonade, just off of Hwy 280 and return there after the ride at approximately 3:45 pm. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...m_Alabama.html

Please be ready to roll at 8 am with a full tank and an empty bladder. Our route will take us over Double Oak Mountain on Hwy 25, then north on CR 55 by way of great back roads to Gadsden and a fuel stop at the Exxon across from Flip Side Grill (90 miles). We will arrive there at approximately 10:40 am. After our fuel break, we will head to the Lion's Den in Sardis City (https://www.facebook.com/Sardislionsden/) for lunch via the great gap roads. Arrival time at the Lion's Den is approximately 11:45 am. After lunch, we will continue on more gap roads on our return to Edwards Bakery and the finish of our June 2nd Saturday RTE.

The weather forecast is good, but later in the day it will in the low 90's, so please bring plenty of water. We will take breaks along the way.

This is a fun ride on excellent roads and great scenery, so please plan to join us. If you can't meet us at Edwards's Bakery, join us at either the Exxon in Gadsden or at the Lion’s Den in Sardis for lunch. Total miles: 207 - Total time: 7 1/2 hours (approximately).

I look forward to seeing "all y'all" Saturday, June 11.

I believe you mean "Edgar's Bakery", not "Edward's..."

You guessed right Martha, she refused to be in the picture but enjoyed the day also.
