  • RTE for BBQ

If anyone is interested, Gail and I plan to ride to Jasper, Alabama this coming Saturday(12/16/17) for some BBQ. We thought we would try Mr. Bean's BBQ at 2307 Hwy 78E. in Jasper. Never been there before so thought we would check it out. We plan on being there at 11:00 ish. If you have any interest, we'll see you there. Later, Paul

Hi Paul, thanks for posting this. This is exactly the kind of "pop up" event I mentioned at the party. See a place and want to ride there? Put it out there and all who can make it, join in! Unfortunately I don't think I can make it but I hope some can! Ride safe and have fun!

We just thought it might be worth a try. A few years ago, the owner was a heavy weight(real heavy) boxer that we watched several times on ESPN. He fought four round fights and was known as "Butter Bean". He was not real polished but man he had heavy hands. Not many people could last four rounds with him. I don't know what this has to do with BBQ but we plan on giving it a try. Later, Paul

We appreciate all of you who showed up and we really enjoyed the socializing. Sorry the food wasn't that great...I think Butter Bean was a better fighter than he is a BBQ chef .

Ha ha, actually I didn't think it was too bad (I ate all of mine and sopped up the plate with my bread!). Thanks for putting this out there. I was sure glad Rob and I could make it and enjoyed seeing everyone. Let's do it again...soon!

Nothing left on my plate either. Thank you Paul and Chuckwagon for your RTE suggestion. It was good to have the opportunity to visit with Alabeemer friends.

Well it was still below freezing here at the time I would have had to leave. I guess I've turned into a wimp. Glad to hear y'all had a good time!
