Ride file
I use a TomTom GPS. I'll check at home and see what type file it uses and let you know. I'm at work now so it will probably be tomorrow when I reply. thanks!Originally posted by SteveS View PostA .gdb file can be read using Mapsource from Garmin. Can you read a .gpx file (GPS eXchange format)? If yes, I can post the gpx version for you.

Kenny. I do not know for sure, but I have been told that you can not download route files to the Tom Tom or Nu vi type GPS units. If that is the case, I will do a written route file for the two rides for you on an XL file. You then can manually enter the routes into your Tom Tom or just place the written route file in your tank bag and follow the directions. Send me an email if you want the XL file.Originally posted by Kenny Owen View PostI use a Tom Tom GPS. I'll check at home and see what type file it uses and let you know. If you can not down load route files, consider getting one of the Garmin units that can. I like my Zumo 550 a lot, and from what I hear about the new 600 series, I would like it better. Some of our other club members have Street Pilots, and 276/376c units and like them very much also. All of our ABEES favorite roads and routes are available to download on line. These routes cover the best of the best roads in Alabama and are a lot of fun to ride.Last edited by R90srider; 04-27-2009, 06:54 PM.Bob Steber

Here are a few more photos taken during the Sloppy Floyd gathering of Alabeemers.
Before returning home Jim, Jimmy and I went to Finster's Paradise Gardens (www.finstersparadisegardens.org) in Summerville, GA. which is said to be one of 100 places in the US you must see before you die. This is especially true for folks interested in Folk Art in that Howard Finster is considered to be the father of the folk art movement in the U.S..
To say the least, Paradise Gardens is a must place to visit when you are in the Summerville area. If we go back to Sloppy Floyd next year, Whitney has agreed to give us a private tour on Friday after lunch.Last edited by R90srider; 04-29-2009, 08:49 AM.Bob Steber

Sounds like there were some scenic & interesting rides back home. Jill & I passed through Little River Canyon, and Desoto State Park and had lunch in Mentone at the historic and beautiful Mentone Springs Hotel. I have some pix of the weekend to post once I get time to learn how to use Picasa.
We had another great time this weekend with you all. I was happy to take part in my first group ride, and despite riding two up, I am happy to say I was able to keep up with Vernon and keep both tires on the road!Chris Patterson

Chris, likewise it was very good to see you and Jill again. I'm glad that you enjoyed the ride Saturday. Malvene and I joined the group headed for the Log Cabin Restaurant in Mentone on Saturday. It is a very interesting place to eat. We have not tried the Mentone Springs Hotel. Maybe next time.
I hope you and Jill are coming to the Great Chicken Rally in Huntsville this month. If so, see you there.Jamie
