Club Ride, May 9, 2009

[R100R Rider]

Meet at the Jack’s in Ashville at 7:30AM and leave at 8:00AM. This is on I-59, exit #166. We will take Gary Nesmith’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise” ride. This ride is about 250 miles. There is a service station next door for last minute fill-up.

This is a great ride over some excellent back roads and through beautiful scenery. CR 33 and SR 65 are ABEES Favorite roads. Gallant Road, Duck Springs Road and SR 146 are also excellent roads to ride. We have lunch at the Pikeville Store and Deli just north of Scottsboro. They have the reputation for serving the best cheeseburgers in Alabama. The switchbacks into Bucks Pocket on the way to the camping area is an excellent ride and the overlook in the park is an good place for taking photos of the surrounding area.

Hi Martin.

You are right about Gary's Cheeseburger In Paradise ride. It is a dandy. County Road 27 was added this year as a favorite ride. If you have time, continue on SR 65 to Hunt land and visit the store. You can check off two SR 65 favorite rides and CR 27 and the store.

The weather forecast is for high of about 85 and small chance of rain. It will be a good day for riding and a very good lunch at the Pikeville store.
