  • It's Close Ya'll!!!

The time draws near for the biggest party of the year at the Landing...Ditto Landing. Your club officers and volunteers have worked really hard putting together this year's event.

The lists have been made, checked and rechecked. Everything is ready (I Hope!) and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

Club members, remember to contact your riding friends whether members or not that you think would enjoy this type of event. It is a good bet many riders of brands other than BMW are not even be aware how much fun this can be!

Come for the entire three days or just Saturday. I guarantee you will see the greatest array of bikes and people anywhere. Eat the best smoked chicken you have ever had and have a chance at some fantastic door prizes and even a shot to take home a new F650GS!!!!

All this for $40!!! I doubt you can match that for fun and value. Make your plans to attend and we'll see you there!!

    Vance,
I finally sold all of my tickets. Actually I bought the last of them. I'll bring the stubs and money Wednesday.

Actually, that was uh, tongue in cheek, sort of an inside joke, I check the Yahoo mailing list about once every 3 months and I happened to check it yesterday.....

But I'd be happy to ride Bill's dirt bike

Looking forward to coming down to your rally.
Riding down from Pittsburgh, Pa on Wednesday with a group of 6.
Meeting up with 2 others coming from Mississippi and a few more coming down on Thursday all in all I think we'll have 11 from the Four Winds BMW Riders out of Pittsburgh.
My one big question is the Cherohala and Deals Gap doable in one day?
I'd hate to be that close and not hit them.

Yes. I'd come down 129 from the north, and then cut east there on Cherohala where it connects to 129 just north of Robbinsville

Rumor is they've got a new sheriff in that part of town, and they are cracking down on speeding, etc, so be careful

If you want to do it from the rally it is doable as well. However I would suggest that a group that size size (if everyone wants to go) might be a little tough. I had some friends (two bikes) do exactly that one day and they remarked how it was a "full" day. But it should be worth the ride!

If you go, don't miss TN 30 up to Reliance and Hiawassee TN 315 up into Tellico Plains. Then on the NC side of Cherohala go left through Joyce Kilmer forest as a shortcut to 129! Man...I wish I was going!

They are forcasting GREAT weather for the rally. A little warm during the day, but only upper 80's. We've had hotter. Lower 60's at night and only 10% chance of rain.
I wonder how it would go over if we did this twice a year?
