Malvene says she doesn't even want me to sit on one. The last time I did that was on the K1200LT...then I bought it.

I think LT riders will jump at this...

Nice features and felt just right for my size...stood up on the pegs and the bar height was just right...

Top case off in matter of minutes...unplug and twist knob inside top case.

This bike is like an LT on weight watchers

When test rides are available...I will be in line...

Well don't sit on it... the bike center of gravity is low...lite too!

Thanks for the photos Don. The bikes I sat on at Intermot had the low seats and they were too low for me. Do you know if the bike you sat on had the high seat or the low seat? Glad to hear that the top trunk detaches easily. I took the trunk off my LT and and added the aluminum rack. It handles much better.

I'll tell you this for sure. I already wish that I had not seen this almost perfect touring machine, but I will also be in line to do a test ride.

Bob, This bike had the high seat level...seat to pegs where the right combo.

I believe the folks that ride LTs will be drawn to this bike like a magnet. I figure other touring brand riders, serious riders, will look hard....
In the first couple of years, if this bike proves it's merit...there will a major switch over...for folks that tour and long distance ride.

                    Pulled pictures...by BMw

I posted these same pictures on Pandora Facebook page...BMW NA called and told Justin to pull all pictures and comments in regard to that post....By himself and customers...

Justin in turn had posted links to my pictures on a couple other forums..MOA and and more....they ask or told him to pill those...

My link and pictures remain on my Facebook page and my posts on my member registered forums....you know free speech within the forums guidelines..

Somehow I fail to understand BMW corporate thinking...but what do I know...I just a BMW rider and owner have spent tooooooo much money on BMW toys and gear in the past ten years or so....

                    Just saying....

Oh-Oh, sounds serious Don. I hope you don't come down with full blown GTLitis.

I know that I have it, GTLitis that is. I have been watching and drooling since they first started posting about it. I was going to buy a new RT, but I am going to wait for a year or so and test ride one of these rocket ships. Too much time on my hands over here.....

I rode one up at Pandora's Jamie. Can u say awesome. I'm glad I'm not a K bike guy. Don't ride it if u don' want to buy one. Seriously it's the best K bike I've ridden. Much more nimble than the LT. It is a very well handling bike thru the twisties. I rode the GTL and while it is a big bike it really doesn't feel like one. A very nice package indeed.

BMW Motorcycles of Baton Rouge got their demo GTL in on Wednesday. Wanda and I happened to stop by the shop on Thursday. Got to sit on it and play with the gadgets. They wanted me to take it out for a ride but no thanks, I just bought a new bike. We went back to the shop Saturday for the usual meeting of the "regulars". Got to play with the GTL some more. A few of the guys took it out for demo rides. They said it is awesom. Don is right, the bike is lite and the seat is low. Both seats look and feel great, should be very comfortable.

Well, I rode the bad boy on Saturday at Pandora's. I went up there to award the Superstakes II bike to the winner Michael Morlin who flew in from San Francisco to ride it home....how cool is that?? It was a great time and after Michael pulle out...I pulled on my helmet and took the GTL out for about a 25 mile spin. as reported the seat height is quite low and while that puts your feet solidly on terra firma, I am concerned my knees might ache in a short period of time. that is the only drawback I see however. The power is incredibly smooth and deliberate as is the handling. the torque is absolutley amazing at low RPM delivering an awesome off the line feeling....which would likely get me in trouble if I actually owned the bike. It made me feel sort of like when you ride a jet ski...it has two speeds....stopped and wide open!

a really fun bike to ride...but I think the GT version might be the real go getter!
