Thank you for posting the pictures Connie. I was pretty certian that I remebered David but just wanted to be sure. Uli and I first met David on the way to the MOA rally in West Virginia back in 03. What a character and great guy. I remembered the cigar in his mouth as we all left the gas station. Truly a sorry day.

David was my sponsor into the club when I got my first BMW. I have run inti him many times all around the country he was a rider. I will miss him.

Yes, he will truly be missed, with his funky hat and his cigar. He and Lucinda were such gracious hosts at their Airstream at Gulf Shores, 2008 with Phillip, myself and others, always offering anyone a chair to sit a spell, to enjoy refreshments or whatever he and Lucinda had to offer. He was one of a kind.

            Steve,
David is the one on the right and Don Drasheff is on the left.

It was nice to see everyone at UMC for David. Realizing that he was raised with 4 sisters told me how he grew to be such the "Gentle Man". Seeing his hat and cigars got to me...in my treasure chest of friends, he was a rare jewel. Ride on, ride on.....

I always take it pretty hard whenever I loose a friend. Especially a person as great as David. Beverly had to remind me not to be sad for David because he is in a better place now and his soul goes on. It's not the end, but a new beginning for him. Instead we need to direct our thoughts and prayers to Lucinda and the rest of his family because they will be saddened so because of such a great loss. I don't think I ever saw David in a bad imood. He was always a joy to be around. The picture of him sitting by the tent is a perfect reminder for people who know him. I think most club members will remember him from that one.

                  Cars should be Outlawed

Sometimes when I'm riding, I think how much safer we riders would be if everyone had to ride a bike...
Of course with the snow down here in AL I tend to shelf those crazy ideas.
All kidding aside, these stories are tragic, sadden the heart, and I can only hope that understanding and healing come as swiftly as humanly possible to all family members concerned.

Hafta agree with you. I've often said that everyone needs to ride a motorcycle for one year. Just be safe out there.
