Mari's Mom (Naomi - aka "mom") was still at their house on her visit and this weekend was taken to the emergency room when she started feeling really sick.
She is in the ICU at Shelby Co. in Alabaster. I believe it was Sunday when she went in, but I have forgotten and it doesn't really matter anyway.
She had trouble with her pancreas, and her magnesium and calcium levels were down 50%. They were giving it to her but it was disappearing and the levels were not coming up.
After last night Mari said this morning the following: (going to copy and paste so I don't get it wrong).
She is in guarded condition and there has been a vast improvement in her numbers over the last 5-6 hours so if she continues to improve at that rate she will be out of the woods. Her kidney numbers are in the acceptable level, not near normal yet but they are working, now so they are going to take out the cathater if she keeps improving since it is bothering her. She has developed some fluid on her lungs from all of the liquids they are having to pump into her to heal the pancreas so they had to give her lasix for that and they are going to try to get her up in a chair for a little bit, get her a little potty for by the bed instead. Angie and Linda got here in time to go at 10:00 last night and we went at 6:00 this morning so we got to talk to the doctor this morning. Dr. Lee came in on her day off to see her this morning and called while we were there last night. She has been great and has been very concerned and taken a real interest in mom. They have really been great at that hospital.

I'll keep you all up to date as things progress. I hope to get in to see her myself sometime tonight. If you wish to send a message the e-mail to Mari and Vance is weridebmw@bellsouth.net. However I'm not sure when they will get a chance to check it right away. No flowers or outside family is permitted as long as she is in ICU so anything like that will have to wait. Just keep them all in your prayers. Cards can be sent to Vance and Mari's house if you wish, of which the address is in the club blue book and I will not put it out here on the internet.
