Stagecoach XIV - The Annual Last Ride of the Year

I am pleased to announce the 2010 edition of The Annual Last Ride of the
Year - Stagecoach XIV.

Thanks to Jim Weaver, we have a website this year:

The date, time, and details are on the site. I have also written a brief
history of the event and Jim has included a link to the PDF. We will be
dressing up the website and adding photos from past events as time allows.

You are welcome to forward the link to other lists and forums that you think
may be interested.

I am recovering from shoulder surgery and will have to cage it to the RTE
this year, but I will look forward to seeing many of you there. Come join

I am planning on being there, MTF folks have a dinner on 29th as well. breakfast at Stagecoach and or lunch on the 30th and Then on to Brooksville Fla for another MTF lunch on the 31st and then to Astor for annual New Year lunch and then on to Key West in search of warmer temps and more sunshine...The three dinners we call the Old Year New Year Trifecta.

Don thanks for the video of the Stagecoach restaurant. I know Bob will especially like the fried chicken recipe which includes his favorite condiment which is Lowrey's seasoning salt (MSG). It will make it "the best he's ever had". I hope the weather man is wrong about the forecast.

AccuWeather has for Dec 30th, cloudy with high of 46, Stockton partly cloudy and 53 high. Looks like it might turn out to be a good day to ride.

I plan to lead a ride leaving from the Jack's at Jemison (I-65, exit 219). We will to leave at 8:00 AM. If you need gas there is a Shell station across from Jacks. We will take Alabama back roads to Stockton: CR 42, AL 191, AL 22, AL 41, CR 39, US 84, CR 1 & AL 59.

Return ride will be decided at lunch.

Hey Jim. In my opinion, the fried chicken at the Hotel Tallasse and the Front Porch was the best in Alabama. They are now out of business . I hope that the fried chicken at the Stagecoach is close to being as good, and if Lowery's seasoning salt is the secret spice, then I am all for it.

Bob, you may be in luck. I heard a couple of days ago that they are rebuilding the Hotel Talisi, in Tallassee, and should reopen sometime in the spring of 2011. I don't know if the old guy that cooked the chicken will be back or not; let's hope so.
