Thanks John I am going to to check out the link. Scheduling this on Sunday is a great idea and will likely provide an opportunity for more folks to be able to attend. I missed last year and looking forward to this year for sure. A great opportunity to see folks from all over!!

      Vance,

Great to hear that you are planning to attend! Hope some other BMWMOAL folks can make it too.

FWIW, it is always on December 30th, no matter what day of the week that falls on. The crowds are usually larger when the 30th hits on a weekend though.

Last year was my first time there and really enjoyed it. The weather was perfect and hopefully will be the same this time. We were staying in Gulf Shores at the time so it was not a long trip for us but I was pleased to see many of our Alabama Beemer friends there.

            Just checked the weather and here it is;
            Sun
            Dec 30
            High 50°
            Low 32°
            Partly Cloudy
            CHANCE OF RAIN:0%
            WIND:NW at 9 mph

Who is planning to go? Maybe we can meet somewhere in the Pelham / Alabaster area? We'll probably put together a route like in past years that will take us down through Montevallo - Maplesville - Selma - Camden - Perdue Hill - Chrysler And down AL 59 into Stockton. Let's see how many we can get to go!!

            What say ye?

              Hey Vance.

Name the place and time; breakfast or not.

If anyone is interested, the Camden to Gees Bend ferry departs at 2 pm.

That is a good idea Bob. Let's calculate how much time we would need to make the ferry and back that into what time we would need to leave Stockton to make it.

I an thinking maybe meeting at Jacks in Alabaster for a biscuit before we depart? Just an idea...let me know what you think...I will work on a route too (Martin, you got any ideas?) lol....

yep, I thought it was a hike. That would mean we would need to leave the Stagecoach by noon...that might be a bit agressive...other ideas maybe?

Jack's sounds good. What time do you want to get together?

Martin is correct about the time to the ferry. I have made it a few times, but without much time to spare. If we leave in time go catch the ferry good, if not, that's OK too.

I'll work on that route a bit and figure some times...that way we can decide when to meet....

                          Jacks Alabaster To Stockton.gpx
OK..here is a route for the ride. Nothing fancy as it is a long way down there and I think we need to be there no later than 11:30 or we will miss it! This takes us down through Montevallo - Maplesville - Selma - Camden - Perdue Hill - Chrysler - Stockton. This is the basic route that many of us have ridden for several years. If we leave by 1 PM to start back and return along the same route, we should be back to Alabaster right around 5PM and of course it will be dark by then.

If this looks good to everybody, I think we need to meet at Jack's by 6:30 latest and launch by 7 sharp!
I am open for other suggestions if anyone has any! Let me know what you think!!

This route version was done in BaseCamp
