Ron is out of ICU and has been moved to room 9305 at UAB. His phone number is 205 966-9305. Carolyn suggested that we not visit today, 12-5, because he is uncomfortable as his pain medication wares off. Hopefully his pain management will be under controll soon.

Kathy and I went to see Ron today and I am very happy to say he is much better and has his pain is under control. He was sitting in a recliner and lookes great. It's amazing that he remembered hitting the deer and some of the goings on right after the impact. Feel free to give him a call of go by for a visit.

There is no official word about when he can go home, but I think it will be sooner than later.

Your incident has been foremost on my mind the past couple days of riding in the early morning dark on the way to work and in the evening sundown ride home. Very glad to hear that this turned out as well as it can for you, though not without difficulty of course on the road to recovery. Ron, you have a lot of folks sending their prayers and best wishes for your recovery. Jill and I are happy you're on the mend!

We took Ron one of Kathy's chocolate pies last night, so he should be well in a few days Seriously, he is weak, but able to get around the house with his walker. He is also able to sleep in his bed with the help of a wedge pillow. His breathing is labored, but that is because of 7 broken ribs. Breathing therapy is helping.

Just a quick note to say thanks to all for their thoughts and prayers. I have no doubt that they were key to my recovery. I am home and am grateful for that. I can get up and walk with a walker or cane but my energy level is nil.

Thanks again I appreciate all you guys.
