No no no. When you said that you had something to keep the lovely Suz'anne warm, a large sleeping bag is all I could think of. Just ask Puddin how important large sleeping bags are.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Rib Fest.

              Jim,

The sad thing about it is that I understood Vance's reply easier than yours! I guess I have been down south way too long, or the heat is getting to me over here.

I'm looking forward to seeing your R100.

                Exact coordinates for the Ribfest.

Does anyone have the exact coordinates for the Ribfest? Bob listed the coordinates as N35 52.194 W87 26.553 and someone else provided the coordinates of N35 51.970 W87 26.142. These two coordinates are 0.8 miles apart driving distance.

"The place where we will be camping is on Lee Wagner's farm outside of Centerville, Tennessee (approximately at Coord. N35 52.194 W87 26.553) which is a wonderful setting with a plush grass pasture lined by trees"

                  Steve.

I also posted the correct coordinates (N35 51.970 W 87 26.142) after getting them from Lee's article on the Nashville website. This will put you on the camping location across the creek. The October newsletter will give you a good route up there on back roads starting in Athens, Alabama.

I stated that the other coordinate was approximate. See above.

                    Bob,

I toured the beautiful roads of Tennessee today and ended up here. I'm assuming this is the RibFest location. How far from the water crossing is the camp site?

The water was only 2 to 3 inches deep.

                    This is the entrance.

This is the main road (Mill Bell Branch Road) right before the turn-off.

                      Steve S.

I do not recognize the location of your first three photos. If the edge of the building in the last photo is a little white church with a two holer outhouse (approximately N35 52.044 W87 26.068), and you are looking SE on Bell Branch Rd, the water crossing is a short distance to the south. The water crossing is on the right This church is where we will be if the weather turns bad. If these photos were taken on Mill Bell Branch Rd, you were on the wrong road. That road branches off of Bell Branch Rd at the dog leg and goes to Hwy 100. Bell Branch /Moss Hill Rd goes to Sr 48. I will send you a Garmin Map with the church and Lees farm indicated. (don't know how to make an attachment here)

Lee Wagner will have signs posted on the day of the Ribfest so it will be easy to to find.

If you had your GPS going, and have the track, send it to me and I can tell you where your were.

I knew where I was - I was in the middle of nowhere! I even heard banjos playing at one point (cue duelling banjos from Deliverence). Seroiusly, it was a beautiful area. It looks as if I went about a tenth of a mile too far North. I was at GPS location N35 52.041 W87 26.174.

                        Here is the white church.

                          Steve,

That is the little church that I was talking about, so you were within one mile north of Lee's farm. It looks like you came down Mill Branch Road off of Hwy 100 rather than on Moss Hill/Bells Branch Rd. which comes from Sr 48. Go back to my first post that answers your question and see the edit with more info.

You are sooo right about being able to hear "Deliverance" music down there in the hollow. My late brother, Bill, lived on Moss Hill Dr., two miles away from the little church and his son and daughter were married there. I have some photos of his daughter's wedding and will send them to you at your email address. She and Erik took their vows while standing barefooted in the creek after local bluegrass singers slowly strolled down the creek singing the theme from "O'Brother, Where art thou". It was a site to see and hear.

OK Bob - You're starting to worry me now. I'll stop before I get into trouble with the management.

Don't know about the management, but there is nothing to worry about. The natives there are friendly, unless you happen to get to close to one of their stills . The name of the county is Hickman, but it is commonly known as "Keg County"

Bob, are you saying that Brother Bill's son and daughter were married to each other, or that each of them used the church for their individual weddings to other people. Please explain.
